Let's just say the songwriting is HORRENDOUS. Not one single catchy song. Jessica Simpson's voice is absolutely amazing. Oh it just totally kills the album. It is a could have been. She can really belt it out. Then why 2 stars.
Come On Over is laughable, she tries so hard to do that country twang - i'ts painful to hear. Ever since In This Skin I have been scratching my head and thinking where did her voice go. I want my old Jess back, I know she's in there somewhere. I feel sorry for this poor little girl, she can't sing country. What happpened to that big, beautiful voice that I loved on her debut album, Sweet Kisses - now that was magic.
It's all heart and soul, making this album, in my view, the best out of all the other albums she has made. Never really enjoyed her voice when she sang her pop songs in the past, but I was pleasantly surprised by this album. Jessica Simpson sings very well in this pop country album, and each song is remarkably beautiful.
The handbags sale maybe better for her. "Jack of all trade" I must say. The song "Do you know" is catchy but overall, this is pop, folks. She just try everything to be successful but her talent is so so.
Her voice and emotion really makes you love all these songs. The second cd, which is a dvd, it's really great too. Also there's the video for "Come on Over" and a behind the scens.I ask all of you to strip down your preconceptions and buy this album. I can tell you this is her best work yet.Her shift to country music was the best thing that she ever did. Basicly, it's an interview with her about this album and her inspirations. You will not be disapointed. Every song on this album is beautifully written and she sings the songs better than ever. To pick my favorites is almost impossible because I like them all so much, but "We might as well be making Love", "Pray Out Loud", "You're my sunday" and "Do you know" are the ondes that I listen the most.
